Reading sheet music

PlayableNotes reads piano music: a treble and a bass staff together. Upload photos of the pages (one page per photo), screenshots, PDFs or MusicXML. You check the pages, in order, before anything is read.

For the best result, photograph each page flat, sharp and evenly lit, with the whole page in the picture. If a line of music comes out wrong, fix it in the measure editor, ask the AI, or try again with a sharper photo. A reading that fails costs nothing.

Credits and refunds

Reading costs 1 credit for each line of music; everything else is free. New accounts get 50 free credits, and packs are on your account page. Credits never expire. Unused credits from a purchase can be refunded within 30 days: write to us from the email address on your account.

PlayableNotes in ChatGPT

In ChatGPT, attach sheet music and ask PlayableNotes to read it, or ask for a library piece by name. Then ask for the version you need (simpler, an easier left hand, another key) and a practice link for your student. ChatGPT uses the same account and credits as the website.

To disconnect ChatGPT, open your account page and choose Disconnect. If ChatGPT asks you to connect again after our terms change, that is expected: it asks you to agree to the new terms once.

Your account and data

Your scores are private to your account. You can download any score as PDF, MIDI or MusicXML, and delete your account, with everything in it, from your account page. See the privacy policy for what we keep and why.
