Worked arrangement brief
From a piano PDF to parts you can still mix.
Lower the right-hand part to half level. Keep the left hand unchanged.
Schumann’s Mélodie → checked MIDI → an editable LMMS session.
Follow the right-hand part.
Compare the delivered right-hand level of 100% with the revised level of 50%. The left-hand setting stays the same. Start with the opening two bars, then hear the complete piece. Switching keeps your place.

Checked score · opening four bars. The handoff keeps the complete piece.
Change one layer. Hand over the session.
The requested revision keeps the notes, timing and piano part intact. It changes the whole right-hand layer, including its inner notes and chords. The full mixes are references; the LMMS sessions keep the note and instrument layers editable.
Download the complete handoff · 104 MB. Includes delivered and revised LMMS sessions, complete mixes and separate rendered parts, checked MIDI, SoundFont and licences.
Install the included SoundFont in your LMMS working-directory samples folder; see the ZIP instructions. This setup was reopened with LMMS 1.2.2. Relinking may be needed.

This worked example uses a score whose publisher also supplies MIDI. See the publisher’s score and MIDI; use an existing MIDI when it suits your project.

Source, setup and what each product did
PlayableNotes read and checked the piano PDF and supplied the MIDI, with the right and left hands on separate tracks. Everything after that happened in LMMS: the producer chose the sounds (a vibraphone sound on the right hand in this example), changed the level, saved the session and rendered the audio.
The worked request changes right-hand volume from 100% to 50%, approximately −6.02 dB. It specifies a revision, not a preferred balance. No equal-overall-loudness claim is made. Both complete MP3 previews use the same +12 dB playback gain and 192 kbps stereo encoding, with no independent normalization. Native WAV downloads keep their exported levels.
The checked score contains 20 written bars, with the opening four repeated: 24 performed bars and 72 seconds of notes at 80 BPM. The handoff retains all 303 notes: 118 right hand and 185 left hand. Complete renders include their saved tail; the full player follows the decoded duration.
Reading corrections: one left-hand pitch in bar 4 (A to G), bar 8 voice allocation without changing sounding notes, and the initial quiet dynamic applied to both staves. Six unsupported expressive swell signs were removed; the two long diminuendi remain. Fingerings and “pas vite” are not represented by this MIDI.
