Effective 5 October 2026

What we keep

Your account: your email address and, if you sign in with Google, your name as Google provides it.

Your music: the files and photos you upload or send from ChatGPT, the scores read from them, every version, and the settings of each score.

Records of your agreement to the terms (when and in which version), and of each upload’s confirmation that you may use the music for teaching.

Practice links you make: their names, the copy of the score they show, and how often they were opened. Students who open a link do not sign in, and we keep nothing about them.

Connected apps: when you connect ChatGPT, which app it is, when it connected and when it was last used.

Usage and costs: which steps ran on each score, how long they took and what they cost, so we can keep the service working and affordable. A few anonymous usage events (you can turn these off on the About page; we respect Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control).

How we use it

Only to provide PlayableNotes to you: to read your music, make the changes you ask for, show, play and print your scores, and keep your versions. We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or publish your music.

We process your music with service providers: Google Cloud and Firebase (hosting, storage, sign-in), OpenAI (reading music and making changes) and Cloudflare (checking uploaded photos). They process it on our behalf.

ChatGPT

When you connect PlayableNotes to ChatGPT, ChatGPT can act on your PlayableNotes account: list and open your scores, read music you attach, save changes as new versions and make practice links. It cannot see other people’s scores.

What you send to ChatGPT, and what ChatGPT shows you from PlayableNotes, is also handled under OpenAI’s own privacy policy.

You can disconnect ChatGPT at any time on your account page; it then has no access until you connect again.

Deleting your data

Deleting a project removes it from your projects; we keep an archived copy that no other user can see.

Deleting your account (on your account page) permanently deletes everything: your projects and their archived copies, versions, uploads, practice links, connections and sign-in.
